About the Climb

In April 2026, Jordanian-Palestinian mountaineer Mostafa Salameh and his expedition team began a climb of 8,848m to the summit of Mount Sagarmatha (Everest) carrying the dreams of the children of Gaza, handwritten on a kite made out of a Palestinian flag, to the highest point on Earth.

The climb promotes awareness. Your donation is solidarity in action.

While Mostafa carries the voices of the children of Gaza to a height where the world can no longer ignore them, Al Khair Foundation is working to ensure those children will see a brighter future.

Why We Climb

Turning Every Step into a Lifeline

Rising Dreams story video thumbnail

There are 1.1 million children among the population currently under starvation and blockade in Gaza. Thousands have lost limbs, and hundreds of thousands are living through deep psychological trauma.

Mostafa Salameh—a Palestinian refugee and Grand Slam mountaineer—is carrying their dreams to the "Forehead of the Sky" (Sagarmatha) to prove that even from the rubble, hope can rise.

Al Khair Programs

Children flying kites in Gaza

Let it be a Tale

The Dreams of Gaza's Children

The kite is a symbol of childhood — a symbol of freedom, of travel, of aspirations, and of rising above limitations. And of course it has become a symbol of Gaza, immortalized in Dr Refaat al Areer's poem.

Mostafa and his team will fly above Mt Sagarmatha (Everest) a kite made out of a Palestinian flag as a symbolic gesture to grab our attention and direct our awareness to the children of Gaza who deserve to reach every peak of success. It's a commitment to champion the children of Gaza — our children — and lift their voices to a height where the world can no longer ignore.

Together WE Rise

Not Everyone Can Climb a Mountain. But Everyone Can Do Their Part.

You may never stand on the summit of Everest, but you can be the reason a child stands again. You can be the reason a family can sit with one another in safety. You can be the reason a dream stays alive.
